The Hangout is on the Ao Nang strip — not on the sand. Plan on roughly a 15-minute walk to the beach, or about five minutes if you grab a motorbike or Grab. We say this upfront because backpackers deserve straight talk, not “two minutes to paradise” marketing.
Why strip location is a win
Ao Nang is one of the pricier beach towns in Thailand in high season (Wikivoyage), and the beachfront is the busiest part. On the strip you are still a short walk or moto ride from boats, convenience stores, street food, and Nomads pub-crawl meetups. Our street tables and café put you in the social flow without sleeping on the shoreline.
